LVS Series VCO Design Packs

The prototype LVS series VCO supplied in the Design Pack is packaged identically to the VCO pictured.

The LVS Series are high performance Voltage Controlled Oscillator designs featuring:
  • very low phase noise (as low as -120dBc/Hz at 10kHz)
  • linear tuning over majority of frequency range
  • constant power output

These designs employ LC resonators and active biasing.   All components used are available in tape and reel format suitable for automated surface mount manufacture.

Key performance data are summarised in the following table:

Model Nominal Frequency
Range (MHz)
Nominal Power Output (dBm) Tuning
Sensitivity
(MHz/V)
Phase
Noise at 10kHz
(dBc/Hz)
LVS400 400 - 490 6 7 -120
LVS500 470 - 560 6 9 -118
